Celebrate Easter with Hands-On Bible-Based Activities
Easter (sometimes called Resurrection Day) is my favorite holiday for a few reasons. Most importantly, it is the celebration of the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. That alone is enough reason to celebrate, but I also love the broader sense of new life, rejuvenation, and hope that comes after a long winter.
If you live somewhere with four seasons, you know the joy of those first warm spring days. The blooming flowers and budding trees are a reminder of God’s promise of new life, just like the ultimate renewal we celebrate at Easter – the resurrection of Jesus!
Why Do We Celebrate Easter?
As Christian parents, our primary job is to disciple our children and teach them about God’s love (check out my discipleship post for more on this). The resurrection of Jesus Christ is the most important event in history—it is the foundation of the gospel message.
The gospel, or Good News, is that Jesus Christ, the Son of God, came to earth to die on the cross for our sins. Three days later, He rose again so that anyone who believes in Him can be forgiven and have eternal life.
For God so loved the world, that He gave His only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. -John 3:16
Easter is more than just eggs and candy. It’s a time to teach our children the true meaning of Easter and keep Jesus at the center of our celebrations.
That’s why I’ve put together a few simple, Christ-centered Easter fine motor activities to help your kids celebrate in a meaningful way. Download my free Easter fine motor activities printable and get started today!
